Today I am sharing 5 great home workouts that I personally love and best of all, most of them are FREE. That’s right, absolutely bloomin’ marvellously free.
I have a special place in my heart for home workouts. My very first introduction to working out by choice (as in, not compulsory sports at School) was through copying my Mum when she’d put on a Rosemary Conley DVD. Home workouts have come a long way since then, with many offering a high-quality workout, promising to sculpt and define your body. All of the workouts I am recommending today are ones that I have tried myself and personally recommend.
Oh the Internet, there are so many free workouts available online, from Youtube videos to printable workouts on blogs and Pinterest. Personally, I love online workouts that have a community via a hashtag so that I don’t feel like I’m doing it alone, that’s why I recommend these three free online workouts.
Sweaty Betty’s Get Fit 4 Free – #GF4F
Not only do Sweaty Betty sell beautiful women’s workout wear and hold free workout classes in their stores, they also put on Get Fit 4 Free several times a year which is a completely free workout that you can follow online. This time they have launched Sweaty Betty Rumble, a boxing inspired workout created with London’s boutique studio 1Rebel. I love boxing, I feel so strong and fierce whenever I’ve done it before and this workout doesn’t disappoint. It’s easy to follow along with and will get you working up a sweat.

Blogilates – #Blogilates
I found Blogilates when I first started eating clean as Cassey, owner of Blogilates had clean eating meal plans on her blog. I used her meal plans for inspiration and then I found her free workouts. Cassey has several workout videos on her site and they’re a killer! I tried a few of her thigh sculpting videos and I always felt the burn. Tone It Up – #TIU
Tone It Up is run by Katrina and Karena, two beautiful personal trainers with amazing bodies. To me, they were the original Kayla Itsines as they’ve built an amazing community with #TIU girls all following their guides. The guides are not free but they do have online workout videos and printouts that you can follow for free. Click the link below to try them out.

DVDs are old school, but still very popular with many celebrities now churning out their own fitness DVDs. These days you can find most workouts that were previously on DVDs as videos. Here are the three fitness DVDs/videos I’ve tried and recommend.
30 Day Shred
Jillian Michael’s is known for her ‘take no prisoners’ approach on America’s Biggest Loser, but she isn’t as mean in her fitness DVD, the 30 Day Shred. This was my first time ever trying to follow a workout plan with a timeframe, rather than just jumping from one thing to the other. There are three levels, each lasting ten days, which get more difficult as you get fitter. The workouts are 20 minutes each and you are supposed to do one workout every day for 30 days. I found it easy to fit a 20 minute workout into my day, especially as I didn’t have to leave my house to do so. The only downside was that doing the same workout every day for 10 days did become a bit tedious.

This workout is intense. They weren’t kidding when they named it ‘Insanity’. I never actually did the Insanity programme, which has you working out 6 days a week for two months, but my boyfriend completed it. I did a few of the workouts with him when I was round his and we were both sweating just from the warm up. There is a lot of jumping involved in this plan so avoid it if you have bad knees. Ultimately, this is a HIIT workout that is designed to burn a lot of calories and the good thing is that you need zero equipment. Another good thing is that the workout changes every day, from plyometrics, to stretching to cardio to abs, you definitely can’t get bored with this plan.

P90X is similar to Insanity in terms of intensity, but it lasts three months instead. P90X also has you working out 6 days a week with one rest day, or a stretching day depending on what you choose. The workouts vary every day, with circuit style workouts targeting different body parts, yoga and plyometrics. To do P90X you do need some equipment, a set of dumbbells, a chin up bar or resistance bands and a yoga mat.

Tip: Both Insanity and P90X are quite expensive so it may be worth looking around online to see if they are available at a discounted rate.
Nowadays anyone with a smartphone or tablet can workout at home. There are so many apps available that offer workouts, but these three are ones that I’ve tried and really like.
Sweat with Kayla
Queen Kayla Itsines has released an app for her infamous Bikini Body Guides, called Sweat with Kayla. The app is free to download but you do need to buy the guide via the app in order to use the app. I tried the free 7 day trial and the app is beautiful and well thought out, it even provides a daily meal plan and shopping lists as well as Kayla’s effective circuit workouts. Each circuit is to be completed as many times as possible within 7 minutes and the app has a timer which counts down the 7 minutes. You also get to choose which workout you want to do each day, either LISS, Legs, Arms & Abs or Full Body and the app ticks how many days you’ve done cardio and how many days you’ve done resistance so that you can keep track.

7 Minute Workout
Who hasn’t got a spare 7 minutes in a day to workout?! That’s all you need for the workout in this app, which you are to do once a day for a month or 7 months. The 7 minute workout is a HIIT workout using your bodyweight, a chair and a wall to give you a full body workout. The reason it is only 7 minutes is because you are to give each move your all for 30 seconds, going as hard and as fast as you possibly can, then rest for 10 seconds before going on to the next move. The app guides you through each of the moves and has a timer which counts down the 30 second and 10 second intervals, as well as letting you know when the 7 minutes are up. It also tracks how many days you’ve worked out for and rewards you for keeping up with your routine.

Nike+ Training Club (NTC)
The Nike+ Training Club is designed especially for women and is consistently being updated with new workouts from athletes and fitness professionals, so there is always something new to try and challenge yourself with. The workouts are split into your level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and your goal (to get lean, get toned, get strong or get focused). This allows you to create your own routine with the N+TC workouts, mixing up cardio, light weight training, heavier weight training and shorter, more intense 15 minute workouts. If any moves are unclear you can simply click on it and a video will play showing how to perform the move. A voice announces when to move on to the next move and a timer shows how long you have left. The N+TC workouts really are great quality and completely free!
