I was very kindly contacted by MyProtein and asked if I would like to try some of their products. I agreed instantly as I’m a fan of the MyProtein Whey Protein Powder. I find the vanilla flavour very versatile as I used it for baking as well as in shakes, smoothies and my porridge. When choosing which products to try I wanted something different to protein powder. I told them that my goals are fat loss and to tone up, so was recommended Thermopure, CLA and well, Almond Butter simply because I love the stuff! I was intrigued to see if taking CLA and Thermopure together would help to speed up my fat loss efforts.
MyProtein Thermopure capsules
Thermopure claims to raise your metabolism during exercise, reduce the amount your body digests and stores and fuel your exercise for longer. Pretty big claims! This is due to the blend of ingredients it contains. Green Tea Extract is a key ingredient which is known to reduce your appetite and increase the amount of fat your body burns. MyProtein Thermopure also contains a blend of Caffeine, Cayenne and Raspberry Ketones, three ingredients that are said to increase your metabolic rate (the rate at which your body uses energy/burns calories), which will help your body to burn more calories during exercise. B Vitamins have also been added as they are said to increase the release of energy to your working muscles, preventing you from ‘burning out’ during exercise and allowing you to exercise for longer. So, as I said, pretty big claims!
I can honestly say that I did notice a difference when I took two capsules before exercising to when I exercised without taking any at all. It’s hard to really say what the difference was, I’m not saying that the MyProtein Thermopure turned me into a machine at the gym able to lift heavier and run for longer or burn thousands of calories, but I did feel like I had slightly more productive workouts when I took the Thermopure.
MyProtein CLA Softgels
I had been reading up on how CLA benefits exercise and weight/fat loss prior to being contacted by MyProtein and added it to my wish list already. Therefore I was really happy to be offered these to try! CLA is short for Conjugated Linoleic Acids. There have been several studies on the effect of CLA on weight management and the most significant effect is on body composition. CLA has been shown to reduce body fat and increase lean body mass (which is my goal!!).
I am the worst at remembering to take tablets daily so didn’t take the MyProtein CLA as often as I should have. However, I did notice a reduction in my body fat and an increase in my lean muscle mass in the time that I was taking it. It is hard for me to say whether this was helped by the CLA or not as I had just started a new training program which focused on losing fat and building muscle. I personally think the MyProtein CLA Softgels did help, as I saw more progress than when I had previously tried a similar training program. The softgels are rather large, so may be difficult for you to swallow if you struggle with taking pills or capsules.
MyProtein Almond Butter
Almond butter is a recent addition in my diet since late last year and I have been loving it ever since. I can get through almond butter quite quickly but I knew that a 1kg tub of the MyProtein Almond Butter would last me ages and it has! I have used it on everything I can, in baking, on my porridge, with fruit, on toast, in smoothies, a spoonful on it’s own… You name it, I’ve probably tried it! I absolutely love this almond butter. On first opening the tub it reminded me a bit of a paint tub and it is a bit runnier to the almond butter I’m used to, but I found that made it more versatile. I will definitely be buying the MyProtein Almond Butter again when this runs out, it tastes great!
Oh interesting :) Not sure if i would try all of these, just because im not bothered lol but currently looking to buy some sort of multi vitmin or skin and hair vitamins.. Xx
Multivitamins are really good too :) xx

It’s hard to say whether they have a similar taste or not (even though they’re both made with almonds) because they’re such different consisitencies and you eat them with different foods. But if you like almonds then you’ll definitely like almond butter! xx
