Recipe: A Clean Superfood Green Smoothie

Today I thought I’d share with you a recipe for a smoothie I have been enjoying lately. Smoothies are a great way to get extra nutrients into your diet as you can add many ingredients that you wouldn’t normally eat together in a meal as well as adding in supplements. They are als super easy to make, no fancy cooking skills required- just add everything into a blender and you’re good to go! I got the basis of this smoothie recipe from SimpleGreenSmoothies on Instagram, but I added a few of my own ingredients. That’s another great thing about smoothies, they are so versatile so you can easily add, remove or substitute ingredients from a recipe.

This smoothie has several superfood ingredients: Spinach, Kale, Chia Seeds and Spirulina Powder. To read more about the health benefits of Chia Seeds, you can read my post here. I’ll be talking about the health benefits of the rest in future posts. Depending on your blender, the kale might not blend completely so the smoothie will have bits in it, if you don’t like bits then you can omit the kale and chia seeds and just use 2 cups of spinach instead. I loved this smoothie and will be making it time and time again.

Let me know what you think of this smoothie if you try it! What’s your favourite smoothie or juice recipe?

Thank you so much! Really glad you found my blog :D I was given the almond butter I used in this smoothie by myprotein.com. Before that I used to buy one by Meridian from Ocado.com, but the MyProtein almond butter is my favourite so far xx
