Weekly Eats #9

This weekly eats has been a week of eating out and on the go, yet I’ve stuck to making wise choices. I hope this post shows that you can still eat healthily when out and about. I didn’t have a chance to meal prep at the weekend and during the week I’ve been on the go so I just haven’t had a chance to prepare snacks and lunches. I’m trying to follow the guidelines in the Active Detox created by Psycle’s CEO and Nutritionist Rhian, but as I have been so on the go I’m following the rules loosely for now. I have done my best to cut out dairy (I succeeded), gluten (the Itsu meal on Wednesday had gluten), refined sugar (success), reduce red meat (success) and alcohol (I had two cocktails on Saturday night – booo).

Day 1

Porridge, coconut milk milled flaxseed, chia seeds, honey, ground cinnamon. Nakd Cocoa Orange bar. Chicken Club salad. Itsu seaweed (this was horrible!). Salmon fillet, broccoli, peas, sugar snap peas.

Day 2

Porridge, coconut milk milled flaxseed, chia seeds, honey, ground cinnamon. Protein Cookie. Joe & The Juice salad. Imbibery Almond Mylk. Chicken breast, tomatoes on the vine, avocado, wild rice & quinoa.

Day 3

Porridge, coconut milk milled flaxseed, chia seeds, honey, ground cinnamon, blueberries. Nakd Cocoa Orange bar. Puy lentil & quinoa salad. Broccoli, pear, spinach, cucumber and celery smoothie. Itsu chicken box.

Day 4

Porridge, chocolate coconut milk milled flaxseed, chia seeds, honey, ground cinnamon. Nakd Cocoa Orange bar. Puy lentil & quinoa salad. 9 Bar Pumpkin. Maple & Fitz roasted cauliflower pot & coconut water.

Day 5

Porridge, coconut milk milled flaxseed, chia seeds, honey, ground cinnamon. Nakd Cashew Cookie bar. Puy lentil & quinoa salad. Coconut & chia seed energy ball. Nando’s peri peri chicken, sweet potato wedges & side salad.

All in all I’m pretty happy with myself! I’ve avoided my first love, chocolate and my second love, chocolate. How has your week been food wise? I love seeing what other people eat and getting inspiration for future meals! Let me know in the comments below.

Haha at the chocolate comment! It’s my first to tenth love I swear. You’ve done really well on the healthy eating front! You’ve done so well. How you feeling without refined sugar? I’ve got my salad, fruit, carrots and hummus already for tomorrow. Let’s nail this week! xx

Haha a girl after my own heart! I have more energy, it’s great not having sugar crashes. But I did still have quite a bit of sugar in my diet this week with my snacks, so I need to reign that in soon. Baby steps. Oooh great snack, we can do this lovely! xx

It can be so easy to fall off the bandwagon and so hard to get back on it sometimes, I hope you’re able to get back on track soon hun x

It looks like a really healthy week for you! I eat very similarly. I love porridge and nakd bars and I have salads for my lunch a lot. I haven’t had sweet potato wedges before, need to make them sometime soon as I think they will be great.
It’s really good to see that you managed to eat healthily although you were out and about. I struggle sometimes with this, but I am slowly finding places where I can buy healthier foods when I am not at home.

Hi Petra, I’m sorry I didn’t see your comment sooner! Oooh sweet potato wedges are great! Have you tried them yet? It is hard eating healthily when on the go, but once you know the good places to go then it becomes easier! I’ll definitely check out your blog, thank you xx
