Review: Vegesentials Fruit & Veg Juices

Just after Christmas I received these beauties in the post after being offered the chance to try Vegesentials, a range of juices that are launching in stores nationwide. Vegesentials are different to a lot of juices out there right now as they are made up of half fruit and half veg, meaning the high sugars in fruit juices are balanced out and they are not heat processed, so the nutrients are retained. The juices are 100% raw, pure and fresh and each bottle contains at least one of your five a day. They don’t use purees, heat, added sugar, water, extracts, additives, powders or concentrates- just a whole heap of goodness in a bottle!

So, that’s what they are, but before I get on to how they taste, can I just take a moment to say- look how cute the basket is?! When I agreed to try the juices, I expected to get a box or parcel of some kind. Instead I got a lovely basket complete with fresh fruit and veg for me to make up my own juices and a beautiful handwritten letter tied with a bow. It felt like a personal delivery and my housemates were all admiring my basket and its contents with a hint of envy. Now for the all important, taste test!

Celery, Apple & Kale

I love celery, apples and kale and have made juices with them before, only with more apple. This juice is one of your five a day and is a natural source of Vitamin A, C and Potassium which boost your immune system, collagen, your skin and fight tiredness and fatigue. At only 5.7% sugar per 100ml, it is the lowest sugar out of all of the juices and you can taste it. I loved the kale leaves to bite on and it was a lovely taste, but overall a bit too savoury for me and my blasted sweet tooth.

Carrot, Mango & Parsnip

I love roasted parsnips, but was a bit sceptical about how raw parsnips would taste in a juice. My scepticism was not needed as the juice was heavenly! This juice is one of your five a day and a natural source of Vitamin A and Potassium which maintains your immune system, skin, nervous system and muscle function. Great health benefits and a great taste; I’m a fan!

Cucumber, Pineapple and Spinach

This juice is two of your five a day and a natural source of Vitamin C. With the horrible sore throat I brought into the New Year, I couldn’t get enough of this juice, convinced it would help me heal. After all, Vitamin C boosts your immune system, fights tiredness and fatigue and supports the function of your skin, gums, bones and teeth. This was another delicious juice, I loved it.

Beetroot, Pomegranate & Carrot

If you’ve read my post on Jason Vale’s 3-Day Juice Detox, you’ll know that I’m not the biggest fan of beetroot, so I wasn’t looking forward to trying this one and kept putting it off. Oh my. I tried it and I loved it! Not forgetting the health benefits too- one of your five a day and a natural source of Vitamin A and Potassium (you know what they do by now). I think I’m hooked- who’d have thought?!

Carrot, Peach & Cucumber

This orange wonder is two of your five a day and a natural source of Vitamin A and C. I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but this juice was delicious too. I don’t like peaches on their own, but this juice has inspired me to try to incorporate fruit & veg that I don’t really like into yummy juices. That way, I get the health benefits of foods I would otherwise be missing out on.

Honestly, I really enjoyed these juices and I love that the brand was started by a family trying to improve their health after a brain tumour scare. Thankfully, there was no brain tumour, but the health benefits of incorporating juices into their diets could be seen by the whole family so they continued. Their children then shared them with their friends at school and soon Patience and Andrew were being inundated with requests to share their homemade juices. I love their values– even the bottles are made from a material that can be recycled over and over and Vegesentials donate 5p from every 250ml to Diabetes UK.

Unfortunately, fruit juices are strictly off the menu for me as I’m participating in Sugar Free January, but after I will definitely be purchasing these regularly- just maybe the celery, apple and kale juice a little less regularly ha. The Vegesentials juices are launching nationwide in store and online in places such as Ocado, Waitrose, John Lewis, Whole Foods, Planet Organic and more. Pick up a bottle and let me know what you think!

I can’t wait to grab one of these to try!!! Just the other day I was thinking I fancied a REAL juice (not one pumped with sugar) and where the hell I could get one from that I trust!! Now I know!
    Thanks lovely x

Yay! Glad I could help! I definitely recommend these, there’s nothing else in them except for the fruit and veg. There are other ‘healthy’ juices that state they have no added sugar, yet the sugar content is the same as a can of coke. The Vegesentials juices with the highest sugar content is still half that of a can of coke and the rest are far lower x

They look yummy but I’ve been scared off vegetable juices ever since trying carrot juice a few years ago. I’m hoping that these taste nicer though as there is fruit mixed in there.

Vegetable juices are definitely a required taste! I always marvelled at Dot Cotton when she ordered her tomato juice on EastEnders haha. These will definitely taste nicer because of the mix of fruit. Try one and see :) x
