When I came back from holiday I struggled to get back into the routine of blogging. I also found myself being extra busy at work as we were launching a year long project and on top of that I was moving rooms. I tried to keep blogging but between working longer hours and packing my many, many clothes I really struggled. I decided to take a mini break from my blog and Twitter until things got back to ‘normal’. Unfortunately that ‘mini break’ rolled out into two whole months! I have really missed blogging and wanted to come back sooner, but decided to wait until I had redesigned my blog- something I had been meaning to do for quite a while!
I searched for templates but I already had a design in mind and the templates just weren’t quite right for me. I wasn’t all that familiar with the code Blogger uses either so found it hard to completely overhaul any of the templates to match up to my idea. I decided to design and code it myself completely from scratch. It was pretty scary hitting ‘select all’ then ‘delete’ on my blog’s code but I needed to start with a blank canvas so that I could really learn what each part does. I wanted a simple, clean design with my favourite colour of the moment- duck egg blue. This is the colour scheme of my new room so it just seemed to make sense to incorporate it onto my blog. I’ve added a top menu so that you can easily browse my blog by the different categories. I’ve also added ‘features’ to the sidebar so that you follow the different series I do.
There are still some fixes and changes I need to do here and there, but I hope you like what I’ve done here. I hope you’ll rejoin me on my blogging journey- thank you so much for sticking with me even when I haven’t been blogging!
