Monthly Favourites: November

I’m frequently trying new foods, snacks and workouts that I think you would like too, so I’ve decided to start a new series on the blog – my monthly favourites. It’s not a new concept in the blogosphere, but I thought it’ll give me a chance to recap the month, check in with you and share what I’ve been loving lately and what I think you’ll love too.

November started with my birthday and overindulgence, swiftly followed by getting back into a fitness routine. It’s always so easy to use occasions like birthdays and celebrations as an excuse to overindulge. I actually said to myself ‘it’s my birthday’ when I chose to eat a pecan twist for breakfast… when it wasn’t even my birthday! I didn’t let that excuse go on too long though, as I quickly signed up to a fat loss plan that I have been loving so far. Which leads me nicely onto my monthly favourites for November.

Monthly Favourites: November by Simply Cantara - a healthy lifestyle blog

Food

Mindful Chef – I’ve been trying using the healthy meal delivery box from Mindful Chef for the past couple of weeks. I pick the recipes that I want to receive that week and my box arrives with the recipe cards and the ingredients pre-portioned so there is no food wastage. Mindful Chef has reignited my love for cooking and meal prep as I had become stuck in a rut and dreaded being in the kitchen. I’ll write a full review next week, but if you want to give it a try, use the code CANTARA25 for 25% off your first two boxes.

LoveRaw Bars – It can be so hard to find snacks that are filling, satisfy the sweet tooth and aren’t full of crappy ingredients. LoveRaw bars are 100% organic, raw, gluten free, dairy free, wheat free, soy free, are high in fibre and contain no added sugar! My favourite is the Coconut & Chia flavour (it’s delicious!) and I love to have it as my afternoon snack, a few hours before my workout. It satisfies my sweet tooth and helps to energise me for an evening workout.

Pip & Nut Butters – I really don’t think I have to say anything about these. If you like nut butters & you haven’t tried Pip & Nut yet… try it! From Coconut Almond Butter, to Honey Cinnamon Cashew Butter and my favourite, Crunchy Maple Peanut Butter. They’re seriously delicious and with no added palm oil. I stocked up this month and have been loving Pip & Nut spread on rice cakes with sliced banana on top.

Fitness

TRINITY Fat Loss Plan – I’ve told you guys about the Trinity plan from Train Eat Gain before. Well, I’ve signed up to it again and am determined to see it through this time. It’s by far my favourite fat loss plan thanks to the one-to-one support from the trainers Ben & Rob & weekly check-ins. Trinity isn’t a generic plan – you’re given nutrition targets based on your body and diet history. If you struggle to do 4 workouts a week, Ben & Rob will adjust your plan to allow for 3 workouts a week. But if you’re struggling to do 4 workouts out of pure laziness, they’ll give you a much needed kick up the bum too.

Fitbit Charge HR – I was bought this as a leaving present from my lovely team when I left my old job and it’s barely left my wrist since! I’m loving it. The Fitbit Charge HR tracks my steps, how many calories I burn each day (which is so helpful in knowing how much I should be eating), my heart rate, how long I’ve been active for, how well I’ve slept, floors climbed & distance travelled. I love having this data & the Fitbit motivates me to move more in my day-to-day activities.

Wellness

Marble Daily Journal – What can I say? I’m a stereotypical blogger & I love everything marble haha. I’d been eyeing up this Marble Daily Journal from Urban Outfitters for a while and I’ve finally bought it. I’ve been using this as a blog journal to organise my to-do lists, blog post ideas, things I need to follow up on and more. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with blogging lately and having this Marble Journal to jot everything down in has helped so much. Plus, it’s gorgeous to look at!

Joseph Joseph Water Bottle – It’s so important to drink enough water, but it can be easy to lose track of how much you’ve had each day. I was kindly sent this Joseph Joseph Water Bottle that has a dot indicator to show how many bottles of water you’ve drank. Start the day with one dot and each time you refill the bottle, twist the lid to add another dot. I keep this on my desk at work and it’s really helped me make sure I’m drinking 2.4 litres (4 refills) whilst at work.

These are what I’ve been loving this month to help me on my health and fitness journey and I hope they’ll help you on yours too. Let me know what you’ve been loving in November and if there’s anything you think I should check out next month. Share your monthly favourites with me in the comments below.

LoveRaw Bars sound great and would love to try them! It seems that there are more and more new raw bars appearing on the market. Aldi just started selling them for a quite good price.

I think you’ll really love the LoveRaw bars. They’re one of the best I’ve tried out of the many bars that are appearing on the market as you say. Ooh I’ll definitely check out the ones in Aldi! xx
