What’s in my Gym Bag?

There are many ‘What’s in my bag?’ blog posts and YouTube videos, but I thought I’d do something a little different and show you what’s my gym bag. I’m lucky enough to have my gym only a 5 minute walk away from where I live, so I always get showered and changed in the comfort of my own home rather than at the gym. That means I don’t have to carry towels, a wash bag, a change of clothes etc in my gym bag, I only need the gym essentials. I bought this bag years ago from JD Sports when it was on sale, although I would like to change it for a much prettier bag. (Similar to the bags Cassey from Blogilates designs and sells). Until then, this bag does the job of ferrying my essentials to and from the gym just fine. So, here’s a list of what I carry in my gym bag:

My gym membership card and padlock for the locker | I’m so happy my gym has these coded padlocks as I always used to forget a £1 for my old gym locker!
Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm | I don’t know why, but my lips always get dry after a workout!
Denman compact brush | I wait until I get home to sort out my hair properly, but this is perfect for making my hair look more presentable after a workout for the walk home.
Weight training gloves | I bought these from Sports Direct quite cheaply as I soon discovered that lifting weights causes calluses on your hands and I hated it! I sometimes feel a bit silly wearing these, but I’d rather feel silly than have tough, dry hands!
Balance Me Super Moisturising Hand Cream with Shea Butter & Yarrow. I really like this brand as they use natural ingredients and this cream is great to use all over the body, not just your hands.
Mitchum Advanced Control Spray | This is pretty self explanatory, no workout should be done without deodorant!
Victoria’s Secret Pure Daydream Fragrance Mist. I picked this up in Duty Free on my way to Barcelona and I love this scent. It is not overpowering and is perfect for Summer.
No.7 Compact Mirror and carry case | I always carry a mirror wherever I go because you never know!
Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor | I reviewed this gadget here and now no workout is the same without it!
My Keys. My housemate bought me this ‘Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate’ keyring after she confused my keys with hers on a night out and as a result left me locked out of my room until the early hours of the morning! She bought this one to be ironic as I’m always trying to avoid chocolate haha.
Simple Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes | These are perfect for refreshing my sweaty face after a tough workout so that I don’t look like a sweaty mess on the walk home to my shower!
My workout plan | I have this printed out to remind me what I’m doing each day. I’ll be changing the plan I’m following soon though, and when I do I’ll share it with you all.
Hair bands and hair clips | Just in case I forget to tie my hair up before getting to the gym and for keeping fly-aways at bay.

I also carry with me my phone and headphones so that I can listen to music whilst working out as well as recording my workout on my phone and my Bobble water bottle as you should always drink water, especially when working out!

That’s it! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. What do you carry in your gym bag??

I love gym bag posts! I did one a while ago now :) It probably needs updating! I should probably keep some hand cream in mine too (I love Balance Me as well), especially as I have anti-bac gel as well as chalk in there and they dry out my hands!

Hi Cantara, I’ve just found your blog through Bloglovin’ as I have recently started my own health & fitness blog.

It’s really nice to connect with other blogs who are as interested in health & fitness as I am.

Perhaps you’ll take a look at my blog and see what you think?

This post was super helpful! I’ve finally decided to start making use of my gym membership (I’ve only been paying in since March… I blame the gym for being further than the pub to be honest..) so it’s really good to have some sort of idea as to what to take with me :) x

Glad this post helped! Haha how about you only allow yourself to go to the pub if you’ve been to the gym a certain number of times a week? Maybe that will be extra motivation for you to go to the gym, otherwise no gym = no pub!! xx
