My first dabble with cleansing brushes was with the No7 facial cleansing brush from Boots. I loved it but it was quite harsh – I ended up causing my nose to peel by accident – so I only used it to give a deep exfoliation when I felt I needed it. This meant that it gradually got moved further back in my bathroom stash and slowly forgotten about. Then I got an email about the Magnitone Barefaced! Cleansing Brush and my interest in cleansing brushes peaked again.
Magnitone Barefaced! vibrates, whereas my No7 brush oscillates. I feel like the vibration is a much gentler method as it doesn’t drag your skin like the oscillating brushes. Once you press the On button, it vibrates for 1 minute before turning itself off. The brush beeps every 20 seconds to tell you to switch areas, so there is no way you can spend too long on one area and risk aggravating your skin. The timer has proved invaluable to me, as (touch wood) I haven’t had any issues with peeling or irritated skin.
The Magnitone Barefaced! brush is designed to be used daily and I’ve been impressed by how it is gentle enough to use daily yet powerful enough to give a deep clean. I’ve found my skin is best when I give it a deep clean every 2/3 days rather than every day. I’m always in a rush in the mornings as I like to sleep until the very, very last minute, so I really appreciate that my Barefaced! brush does not leave me red-faced. I can cleanse my face in the morning and run out the door soon after without worrying about looking red-faced.
Another feature that I love about the Magnitone Barefaced! is that it is 100% waterproof so I can use it in the shower, enabling me to get a deep cleanse in the shower before my mad dash out the door to work.
I rarely wear make-up, I’d love to ‘dress up my face’ on a daily basis, but I just don’t want to give up those extra minutes in bed so my skincare is key. I’d been suffering from extra oil production and clogged pores in my t-zone towards the end of Summer and I’ve really noticed a difference since using Magnitone Barefaced!. It has helped my moisturiser sink in better too so I’m sure I’ll be able to avoid the dreaded dry skin this Winter, fingers crossed.
I don’t have any complaints about this brush, it’s lightweight, portable, wireless, pink, waterproof and it works. It’s a higher price at £70, but considering how much I’ve been using it these past few months and the difference it’s made to my skin I believe it’s worth it.
